RA Long High School announced the student award winners at the Senior Scholarship Assembly in the auditorium before a packed crowd on Friday morning. Unfortunately, Jillian could not be there, as she was at Mt. Tahoma High School preparing to race in the 2A State Track Championship 4x100 meter relay prelims. Had she had been there, she would have found herself making multiple trips to the stage to be recognized. Here’s all the awards that she received:
Bill Hecker Academic Award - $5,000
“Outstanding scholar athlete of the senior class”
RA Long Booster Club - $1,500
“Hard work, dedication, and strength of school community”
Bill Marshall “Making a Difference” Scholarship
“Volleyball players or student athletes who reflect qualities that (Bill Marshall) valued the most: dedication, leadership, and commitment to being an outstanding student both on and off the court”
Johnny Hammer Award
“Exceptional senior athlete … nominated by RA Long coaching staff”
Jillian was also recognized for National Honor Society, Washington State Honors (top 10% of Washington students) and RA Long Honors (3.5 GPA or higher).
