Brock and Easter Lilies

 It's always fun to have Brock home as he will always sword fight with Tor.  Tor has all the moves down.

Later that day Brock took them all to pick Easter lilies.  They did quite well.  Jillian picked too but had run off to shoot baskets or something.

The Chase

When Tor returned from Pre-school he immediately ran outside with this long piece of yarn since Anna chases him whenever he has it.  He ran and ran with Anna on his tail, until Anna got tired (surprisingly) and laid down on the front porch.  It also helped to tire out Tor before his nap.  Tor has a very gentle, kind manner with all the animals so they're not afraid of him.

Egg Decorators

The kids had picked out their decorating kits, and as soon as Mommy boiled the eggs, they were off to the races. They were so eager, they destroyed the directions on the boxes, so Mommy had to do some internet research to figure out what to do.

Puzzles & Pizza

A special treat for the kids every once in a great while (usually when Mommy is working) is to go to Dollar Tree and buy a new puzzle for each, then go to Domino's and put them together while we wait for the pizza to be made.

Licking the Bowl

 The girls asked for a peanut butter pie for their snack after school so Tor helped me make it with the promise that he could lick the bowl afterward.  He did start with the spatula until he couldn't get anymore off the bowl.

 Then he literally licked the bowl clean.  His head did fit inside.

Papa needed some help getting a load of wood so Tor did his part.  I think the best part was the tractor ride!
Rick and Heather were late getting back due to a traffic back-up so the girls were playing outside when Jillian challenged me to a game of PIG.  She beat me easily on the first game with trick shoots at the basket.  Then when I got them down it was close but she works well under pressure so I didn't get a win on the next two games but she was at G a couple times.  Then to my relief Rick arrived!

End of Beach Trip

Our last stop ... Frite & Scoop before heading home.

Post-beach Ice Cream

The kids got a special treat at Adelaide's ... extra big ice cream cones! Tor wouldn't even share some of his with Daddy :(

Library Time

After lunch, we biked to the school playground ("the park") and played until it started sprinkling. So, we went to the library to relax with some books for awhile.

Cool Beach

We made a quick trip to the beach, and it wasn't too cold and windy, but we could only stay out about 15 minutes before getting chilled. The kids still want their post-beach ice cream, though.

Drawing

After Tor's reading lesson he likes to make an animal from Ed Emberly's drawing book.  I like it because they need to draw shapes and follow directions to make it turn out.  Today he was really into his drawing.  He used the book to draw many animals on his own.  Then he wanted to draw a harder pirate ship so I did it with him.  He followed my directions to a "T" and his ship turned out great.  Then he decided he would give me directions to draw another ship so I had to follow his directions and it was funny listening to him sound like me as "Draw a short line at this end."  A good lesson today.

Early Release

 The girls got out of school at noon so they had lots of time to be creative.  Here Jillian is putting tiny cookies in Easter eggs for Tor and Bridget to practice their egg hunting.

 While Jillian was getting ready for the hunt, Bridget decided she wanted to sew a doll.  She hasn't sewn before so it was a definite learning experience. 

 Since it was raining they had to do the hunt inside.  Bridget was the most successful egg hunter so Tor will have to practice some more.

Here is Bridget's doll.  She glued on hair and a skirt and lace top.  She did pretty good!

Tor's 5th B-day Party

It was "forever" (according to Tor), but he finally got to have his birthday party. It was a kind of Star Wars / superhero mixed theme, though just Star Wars on his cake that he helped Mommy decorate.

During the happy birthday song, Tor kept his eye on Jillian, knowing she'd try to blow out the candles. Jillian and Bridget helped him with the reading of his cards.

End of Bridget's B-ball Season

Bridget ended her basketball season with Hoop Dreams in fine form, scoring a couple of baskets and playing good defense. Afterwards, the team celebrated at Airie Lane; Bridget made a wood plank craft.

Tor's Preschool Birthday Party

Tor is 5 today! He received the VIP treatment at preschool, and got to hand out some treats for everyone.

Dr. Seuss' B-day
