Spring Concert

Jillian had practiced a lot for her school concert. Not only did she sing , but she also played the glockenspiel and the maracas.

Garden Field Trip

Tor's 3-year-old preschool class made a trip to Greg's Gardens, and Mommy joined them. Tor got to pick out a plant to bring home with him.

Meditation

While visiting Heather's friend Mary, the kids played in her backyard. Bridget found it to be a very peaceful place.

Another Fair

 It seems like every time the kids are here they want to have a fair downstairs.  They work hard setting it up with games and activities.  First you have to pay a nickel to get in.  Jillian is the collector of money.  This time I only had a dollar so she had to subtract my amount each time I did something.  Here Tor and Bridget are selling refreshments.  A candy was 2 cents.  Daddy was first in line to get a CapriSun. 

After a few games you can get a glass of water for 2 cents.  There was the Easter egg hunt. buying stickers, playing volleyball, and a show.  After the fair it's a big process to split up the money among the three of them.  Soon, hopefully there will be sun and they can be outside but then they will probably think up a fair outside.

Family Bike Ride

The sun came out, so we dusted off our bikes for a ride to the park (except for Daddy, who ran alongside Tor). At the RA Long parking lot, Tor managed to crash into a signpost, just like his oldest sister.

Attention

Tierney played with Tor most of the morning before Tor had a nap.  Then Jillian and Bridget got home from school and Tierney first spent some time with Bridget.  I heard Tor wanting some attention from Tierney and saying, "Tierney, play with me.  You only played with me a few minutes."  Then Tor decided to put together another puzzle without help.  Later Jillian organized another fair downstairs for Tierney and Rielee (who had come to play).  They all had fun dressed in green for St. Patrick's Day. 

Selfie

Tierney was here and she took a "selfie" with the girls as they were frosting cookies.  The girls made the cookies by themselves with only a little help stirring.  Most of the time Tierney was putting puzzles together with Tor (you can see him in the background working away.).  Tor did 10 puzzles, mostly by himself except the really hard floor dinosaur puzzle. Later the girls set up a fair downstairs for Papa and I.  Tor set up a basketball shoot and did a show, Bridget did stickers and helped Tor with his show.  Jillian had an Easter egg hunt.  Then they sold us their cookies and other snacks.  Each thing to do or eat was priced at 1 cent or 5 cents.  Jillian was the bookkeeper.

Spider-man & The Black Cat

Bridget and Tor had watched a Spider-Man cartoon episode that had The Black Cat in it, so they re-enacted the show while Mommy and Daddy watched. We had no idea that the characters kissed ... until Bridget pulled up Tor's mask and planted a big smooch on him. Oh my!

New Display Bookcase

We had been struggling to find a storage & bookshelf combo for the living room. We found something that was pretty close (and inexpensive) so we pulled the trigger on it. It's not quite the right color, so Heather is thinking about her options. This photo shows Tor "freezing" for the picture, since he usually is wiggling all over (making a blurry pic).

Jillian's New Bookcase

This was one of the last missing pieces to finishing Jillian's bedroom. She needed a bookcase that fit a narrow space, and we came up with this. It holds all her books, plus some extra space for her other items.

The Lego Table

Every once in a while, Mommy let's the kids take over the dining room table with their thousands of Lego pieces. Since Tor had just received some new Star Wars and Batman Legos, it seemed like a good time to bring them out again. Pretty much all of their free time this past week has been spent on Legos.

Ava, Jillian, & Torion

 Jillian and Bridget went up to play with the twins and soon Aunt brought Ava and Jillian back because they wanted to split up and do different things.  So Bridget stayed and played with Harper (she brought back a pretty picture).  Here they had fun, each with their own vehicles and Tor riding along.  Ava sure liked the dune buggy as they have a jeep, so that was a change of pace for her.  The dune buggy goes anywhere.

 Next I heard Jillian saying that Tor and her were orphans and needed rescuing.  They are in one of the dog kennels.

 Ava came to the rescue.

This didn't work real well but they had fun as Ava tried to pull them in the wagon.  I think it was too big a load.  Later they spent a lot of time in the woods.  It was such a nice warm day and they needed to get outside!

Anna's Birthday

 Tor was so excited to have Brock come down to play Superheroes with him.  They also played with the Stormtrooper set.  Tor was in his element of battle.  Brock is also a Star Wars fan.

It was Anna's first birthday so Bridget went shopping and got Anna a toy and some kitty treats.  Here is Bridget enticing Anna with the toy.

Anna has always been so patient with Bridget.  She lets Bridget hold her and snuggle but Anna isn't usually that way with others.  I think it's because when Anna broke her leg Bridget held her a lot, since Anna couldn't run around, and Anna remembers that.

Sewing Class

As part of Jillian's Christmas present, she gets to take sewing lessons with Rielee who has taken the lessons before.  This is their second class and Jillian is thrilled to sew right by Rielee.  Their teacher is a retired Home Ec teacher who is so skilled and patient with them. 

Jillian is working on a checkerboard played with buttons.  It is pretty detailed for a beginner but Jillian seems to be getting right into it. 

Tor's 4th Birthday Party

It was hard to wait, but Tor finally had his birthday party. He had lots of family and friends show up to wish him well. Everyone watched old family videos of baby Tor and snacked on goodies. Mommy made the chocolate cake, and decorated it with Star Wars action figures. After the song and blowing out candles, Tor got down to business of opening presents, with help from Jillian and Bridget. It didn't take him long. Then, he got right to playing with his new things. As a special treat, his cousin Brock was at the party and battled light sabres with him (this photo shows them watching a Lego Star Wars video).

End of Basketball (Jillian)

Jillian finished out one of her favorite basketball seasons this evening. Jillian did well in the games dribbling and passing, but she was a little bummed about not scoring. The team had a party at Vernie's afterwards, and Jillian was very bummed out when she had to say goodbye to her teammates who she got along with really well, and her Coach Louie who she really liked and helped her learn a lot. She didn't want this season to end.

End of Basketball (Bridget)

Bridget had her final basketball games today. She did well, scoring and defending.  Afterwards, her team celebrated at Sweet Spot, where Coach Glenn gave each player a medal, certificate and sling sack. Bridget's certificate said "Rebound Princess" (he knew her well!) Bridget had a great time for her first organized team sport.

Tor's 4th Birthday

The Big Mister turned 4 years old today! His day started at pre-school where he was greeted with an alphabet tile "Happy Birthday Torion". Then, the class sang to him and ate brownie bites, and Tor got to pick out some prizes. When everyone got home, we went to Guadalajara for dinner. The entire time we waited, Tor kept asking "When are they going to sing to me?" He was all smiles when the wait staff arrived to put the sombrero on him and sing to him.

Bridget's 100th Day of Kindergarten

Bridget's kindy class had a big celebration for their 100th day of school, with everything they did revolving around the number 100. Along with doing lots of activities, she also got to wear this crown that says "100 Days Smarter" and wear a cape that had 100 counting units on it. As an added bonus, here's a photo of Bridget with a "Cat in the Hat" hat to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday.
