Treats

With the volleyball trip to Minneapolis, it was too long in not seeing Torion, Bridget, and Jillian.  So today it was fun to see Tor responding to Papa talking to him and Tor probably thinking, "Who is this?"  Then we got to take the girls for treats at Sweet Spot where they had fun choosing their yogurt and toppings.  Since Starbucks was nearby they got to get hot chocolates there while Grannie had her treat.  It was quite crowded at Starbucks so I asked the girls to stand still by me.  Jillian informed me that Mommy and Daddy never ask them to stand still.  I'm sure!

Sunshine!

Bridget got the crayons out and I realized that she hasn't colored very much, so we sat down and colored together.  She colored very intensely and when she finished a page she would pronounce it "Perfect". 

Sunshine!  After naps the girls went outside to play and Papa helped Bridget drive the jeep.  She still doesn't know how to steer so he set it to go in a circle and she pulled Jillian in the wagon.  Jillian was finally feeling much better that afternoon. I think Jillian is trying to rope things with the hula hoop, especially Papa when they would drive by him.  When Bridget was driving she was tuning the radio or watching Jillian, not paying much attention to the road.  When Daddy came to pick them up they rode scooters with him for awhile.  Daddy was teaching Jillian how to put both feet up on the scooter and ride that way. 

Tea Parties

Finally the time has arrived for tea parties outdoor.  Brock sat with them for awhile and then Ty.  After the tea party I told them they had to wash the dishes which they did willingly and did a pretty good job.  They are glass sets and not one broken.
Jillian has had a cough so before bedtime I was giving Jillian some medicine in the kitchen.  Jillian likes the taste of the medicine so while Jillian was drinking it Bridget walked in the kitchen hacking and coughing (pretty realistically too).  Papa and I could hardly keep from laughing aloud at her attempt to get some of that good medicine.

Little Red

Yes, Torion is definitely a "red-head". His hair looked brown when he was born, but after some washing and growing, his hair has a nice rusty-red color to it. Mommy lets everyone know that the Peterson side of the family has several red-heads, so that gene has been passed on to Torion. We'll have to see if Torion's temperament matches his hair color as he grows up.

Changing Table Happiness

The one place that we can count on to make Torion happy is the changing table. As soon as we lay him on it and take off his clothes (and diaper if it's wet or messy), he settles right down and just looks around. He is also very attentive when we talk to him there. So, we usually let him stay on the changing table for awhile, at least until he gets real squirmy and wants a change of view.

Sharing Sophie

Jillian was super excited today as the teacher said she could bring Sophie to share.  First she held Sophie in a chair and told the class how careful and nice you needed to be with Sophie.  Then as the class was lining up they each got to pet Sophie.  Here is her friend Emma.  Sophie wasn't real sure about this whole thing but she was very good and patient as she loves kids.

Donuts and Dress Up

Thanks to Aunt Dianne who made doughnuts with the twins last week, I remembered my doughnut maker.  They helped me mix up the dough, make the frosting, and then when the doughnuts were cool they dipped them and put on sprinkles.  Bridget had already done her plate of doughnuts.  They wanted to lick the frosting bowl and this is what happened.

I think Jillian wanted to use the frosting as finger paint.  After naps they shared their doughnuts with the neighborhood and there were only two left for their snacks at night.  Jillian said they were the best doughnuts she had ever eaten.

I had found a bin of dress up clothes from long ago so the girls got to go through the bin and they had a ball.  This was the first outfit Jillian tried on.  They went through several outfits.

They ended up dancing together in these tutus and wearing them for the rest of the evening.  (I think the yellow tutu was Tierney's from ballet.)

Daddy's Helpers

This the first time that a post is being made from our new tablet, so we'll see how this goes. This photo is of the girls helping Daddy with the dishes. Jillian has been very excited about helping with the dishes (go figure), while Bridget is mostly interested in playing in the bubbles.

New Tricks

This is Jillian showing off her new trick this morning of walking on the outside of the railing and then sliding down and dropping to the floor.  She had to show Papa before she left for pre-school. 

Since Jillian did it Bridget couldn't be left behind.  At first she would only go halfway with me following underneath ready to catch her.  After a couple times halfway, she went all the way and back.  She did it at least six more times to keep both of us busy.  Then she got a toy hammer and carrying that she proceeded to tap each rail a couple of times to fix it.  She was then curling her arm around the rail to hold on while she tapped.  Scary.  She showed Daddy when he came and freaked him out. 

Busy, Busy, Girls!

The girls played dolls for a really long time.  They enlisted Papa to help dress the 2 inch dolls which is nearly impossible.  As soon as they put one outfit on it's time for another.  This was after their over 1 hour bath.  When they are finally done playing in the water I have a couple of prunes.

Ava and Bridget played dress up bears together.  Harper was in the kitchen a lot.  Jillian got the cash register and had Harper pay for the food they would cook.  They all had a good time.  Then it was nap time.

They spent a lot of time outdoors.  After walks in the woods they played on the helicopter for quite awhile, pretending to fly to the North Pole and Jesus.  Then they were lost and couldn't find their way home.  When the sun went down I convinced them to land and come in since it was getting colder.

Outdoor Girl

Whenever Jillian is at pre-school, Bridget looks outside and if it's not raining she wants to play outside.  I think it was 44 degrees out and she wouldn't come back in.  We spent some time with her being the pooper spotter and me cleaning it up.  And every time she picks a handful of flowers.  This picture is right after Tucker came to see if what she had in her hand was food.  She gives the  stone kitty a bath in the fountain, b-r-r-r, cold hands, and then makes the kitty a home.  Once she tried her climbing again on a stack of lawn chairs so she could look in the kitchen window.  That again required a rescue.  I finally coaxed her back in with an offer of a snack.

Entertainment

With everyone here for my birthday, Jillian had an audience to do her ribbon dancing.  She informed me that she will lead the ribbon dance for her ballet program this year?  She got Grannie to get a ribbon and join the dance.  Also she coerced Uncle Peter and Uncle Dan to join her.  Daddy and Cousin Tierney joined her for awhile too.  Aunt Robin was holding Tor so she couldn't do it.  Bridget was too shy so she put ribbons all around for decoration.  It was fun to watch.

Easter

The youngest egg hunters are lined up ready to go-Bridget, Rielee, Ava, Jillian, and Harper.  They found lots of eggs except for Bridget who wanted to open each plastic egg she found and if it had candy in it she wanted to eat it right then.

The girls got bubble sets for Easter so they tried them out.  Uncle Dave is helping Ava. Jillian was a pro but Bridget would put the bubble wand right on her lips to try to blow and make a face from the taste of the bubble stuff.

Rielee was thrilled to hold baby Torion.  He got lots of attention as he was passed around.  He was awake and very wiggly.
