Punda Vibes

Every Thursday night in Punda, there is supposed to be a festival of music, dancing and fireworks. We saw all of that, though we weren't always sure it was the actual Punda Vibes. We did get to see the Queen Emma Bridge all lit up:

... and we finished the night with some ice cream at Baskin- Robbins.

Willemstad

Thursday was planned for visiting Willemstad, the capital of Curacao. It was a short 10 minute drive there. The first stop was the giant Curacao sign:

... followed by the Punda Love Hearts (metal sculptures covered in locks):

... then a photo op at the Handelskade, with its Dutch Caribbean architecture:

... as also seen from the Queen Emma Bridge, which swings in and out for ships:

For a break and treat, we had lunch at the Iguana Cafe, along the waterfront in front of the Handelskade:

The Lagoon

[NOTE: This post is way out of order ... it actually took place on Sunday, July 21]

The primary swimming spot today was the lagoon next to the resort. The water was very warm and salty. Tor brought his rainbow football so that he and his cousins could throw it around:

There were also lots of sea creatures, including tiny hermit crabs:
