Family Pictures

The photographer maneuvered the family around the resort, taking many different shots. Hopefully those will be shared on the blog soon. In the meantime, Ty and Tor recreated their iconic photo from Hawaii five years ago:

Afternoon Swim

For a couple hours, we swam in the lagoon and just puttered around, sometimes hanging with cousins, and sometimes hunting for shells.

Tor tested his leaping ability, trying to clear the boulders below as he jumped from the edge:

Curacao Sea Aquarium

The highlight of our visit to the nearby aquarium was our experience with the Animal Encounters event. It involved snorkeling in a large outdoor tank filled with all kinds of fish, including a huge stingray named "Scratchy", which we got to pet as it swam by:

Then, our guide Alexandria took us to the shark tank filled with nurse sharks and lemon sharks. The tank was separated from us by a plexiglass wall, but it had small tubes in it to feed the sharks. Our guide gave us fish to hold in front of the tubes:

Then, we would slap the tube with the fish to alert the sharks (like Jillian is doing here):

... and the shark would "suction" the fish through the tube right out of our hand in the blink of an eye! It was shocking, and kind of scary! This is what we saw on the other side of the wall:

That was followed by feeding the small fish that were constantly hovering around us during the shark feeding ... we held a tiny (dead) fish underwater, and those peaky small fish went bananas, attacking us in a feeding frenzy! It was another shocker!

After that, we went to the sea turtle tank to see the giant named "Greenie", and again got to pet the stingray. We finished with about 10 minutes of free time to snorkel around:

There were some seriously big fish swimming with us, named Tarpons.

Mom and Dad got up early on Wednesday morning to enjoy coffee and breakfast on the beach:

Anniversary Celebration

Ty was the MC for Grannie and Papa's 65th Wedding Anniversary celebration that was held in Cale and Erika's room.

Dad officiated the wedding vow renewal, then they cut the cake and had their first dance (again). This was followed by everyone recalling their standout memories of Grannie and Papa:

Rainy Morning

It was raining like crazy this morning, with high winds and lightning and thunder. We ran to the breakfast buffet and still got soaked. Then, Mom and the kids played with Kenny and Rory in their resort rooms while Dad drove Aunt Julie and Erika to the grocery store. Afterwards, we chilled in our own rooms until the rain stopped. The rest of our day was spent in the lagoon with the cousins. An iguana paid us a visit:

The older cousins went for an evening swim in the lagoon, so our kids joined them.
