Slow Start

Tuesday ended up being our slow day, with Tor waking up at 9 am, and the girls at 10 am. We watched Star Wars Ep III, ate breakfast, and eventually rolled out on the bikes at 1 pm.

Breezy Fire Pit

Hot dogs were the planned dinner for the night, but after Dad cooked them, only Bridget came outside to eat them, while Jillian and Tor stayed inside ... it was still windy, and a bit cool.

Jillian and Tor eventually came out, to battle with lightsabers.

Otto stopped by and chatted with us around the fire, telling us that loss of power we just experienced for over an hour was due to a fire.

Too Windy

After lunch and helping Pap Bob put in the new garage door, we tried the beach again at 4:30 pm. As soon as we stepped out of the car, we knew we wouldn't be there long ... the wind was howling! Dad built a tidepool for some warm water, but even that wasn't enough to keep the kids on the beach.

So, we left shortly after.

Jack's Ice Cream

Colleen's Coffee House is only open on the days we're not here, so we had to go to Jack's to pick up our post-beach ice cream.

Monday Beach Time

The forecast was for the sunniest and warmest day of our trip, so we made a point of trying get to the beach early (10:30 am is pretty good for us). 

The kids' first activity was attempting to surf the waves on the wake board. The unfortunate part of going into the water at the start is that Tor gets cold right away and doesn't want to do much after.

We went looking for bigger waves and found them, so the girls wake boarded for awhile.

Then, it was time to warm up, so they headed up to the dunes for a little kid confab.

Space Invaders

Grannie sent a new board game with us called Space Invaders. It's based on the video game, but with lots of complicated rules. Plus, we weren't very good at the "token flip", so we were getting wiped out ... we played a few rounds, then bailed out to watch the movie "Scoob" to end the night.

Pizza Dinner

We started off the first night with the best dinner -- make-your-own-pizzas. For the record, Jillian and Bridget each had 4 pizzas, and Tor ate 2 pizzas.
