Workers

Jillian, Bridget, and Tor came up early before staying overnight to help clean up the Playfort. Sticks fall off the trees and need raking up so that's their job with a little payday at the end. Tor did all the sweeping inside the fort and zip line platform.

 Since they drive the dune buggy all over I decided it was time for Jillian to learn to drive the lawn tractor. She was nervous at first but I set the speed as low as it would go and she didn't have any problems driving all over. The only thing that was difficult was pushing the brake hard enough to start the engine. They took 3 loads down to the woods while I walked beside them, just in case. They had to unload too. Then Bridget and Tor would ride back up in the trailer.

After their job they spent the rest of the day outside playing. A great day with no electronics!

Busy Kids

They got out of school at noon due to conferences and since it was a pretty nice day they went right outside. This is Bridget putting the finishing touches on Tor's house.

 Bridget's room was right next door but that wasn't all. The drawings by both of them went down the driveway to include a town with a gas station. There was a lot of riding scooters around the town. They were out the whole rest of the day building nests or something in the apple trees for their rocks and planting my daffodils in different places. They came in once for a short time. At dinnertime Tor stated that he was starving, guess he used up a lot of energy outside.

 Jillian was recovering from missing 3 days of school so she kept her activities pretty low key, doing crafts, sewing a pillow, and baking cookies. Here she made a cute bunny basket. She did go outside for a little while.

Playing together

When they got here after school (minus Jillian who was sick) Bridget and Tor went right outside to play forgetting their after school snack time, which was a first. They took turns riding the Hoverboard on the deck and then found the chalk bombs from last summer, which was a big hit. Once they took off leaving a trail for me to follow. They played together at the Playfort a lot and then with their outside rock doll house, adding more rocks. They weren't ready to leave when Daddy came.

Another Harry Potter Reader

With Jillian reading the (entire) Harry Potter series, Bridget decided to get in on the action. She's already plowed through the first three books (and watched their movies ... part of the deal), and now she's working on a big one -- The Goblet of Fire.

Return of the Legos

The kids have been begging to get the Legos out, and with Tor receiving a bunch of new ones for his birthday, it was time.

Nice Enough for Bikes

It was cold outside, but sunny, so the kids were able to get outside and ride bikes for a bit. Jillian and Tor rode their new bikes, while Bridget rode Jillian's old bike (which she reminded us about many times).

Tor's Home Birthday

Tor got to have another party post-birthday with the Peterson family and friends. We watched some home videos of Tor when he was 2 years old, then dug into presents and Mommy's cake.

Tor finally got what he had been wishing for ... a new bike. It's big, and he can just barely get on, but he managed.
