Bridget's New Door

Bridget has been without a door for her room for over a year, and she's been asking for one for awhile (you know, privacy and all that ...), so Daddy finally got around to installing it. When she saw it, though, Bridget said that it was blocking her wide open view to the backyard ... oh well.

Go Fourth Activities

Jillian finally got to do the rock climbing wall, and made it to the top the first time. On the way, she slipped a bit and got a little freaked out by how high she was, so she only went halfway up the second time.

Bridget and Tor did the traditional bouncy houses: the obstacle course and the caterpillar.

Go Fourth Parade

Bridget and Tor were right up front this morning for the parade, trying to scoop up as many treats as they could (though both of them are pretty gracious with other kids ... they won't fight over candy; they just let them have it).


Jillian is now old enough that she just hung back with Momny and Papa Ken to watch the parade.

Field Fun

Daddy and the kids went to the big field to play with the inflatable geo-ball (it had been years since we used it). Tor and Bridget weren't big enough to push Jillian, so Daddy had to do it.


We also tried out some slingshot flyers that we'd found at a garage sale.

Unfortunately, Bridget stepped on a bee and got stung on the bottom of her foot. She recovered pretty quickly.

Rides and Games

 Disneyland stuck with them for awhile as they got out the wagons and gave instructions just like at Disneyland.  Buckle up, stay seated and when finished, step carefully out and thank you for riding.  Then Jillian and Bridget would take each other and Tor for fast rides and sometimes they would put their hands in the air to show "no hands".

I don't know how Bridget got talked into doing this ride for Jillian.

Bridget worked and worked on getting to control the Ripstick.  She would go a little farther each time.  Jillian would have no part of it. 

 Then when Bridget had some success, Jillian decided to try it.  She got pretty good at going a long ways.  I had to point out to Bridget that Jillian at Bridget's age didn't want to even try it.  Then they got Brock's Ripstick so they both could ride around a lot.  They were very proud of themselves.

Every evening Corn Hole games are played.  Yesterday it was Tierney and Brock with all of them.  Today when Daddy came he got roped into playing for the first time. It was Daddy and Tor against Jillian and Bridget.  Close games. Notice Tor without shoes.  He didn't wear them outside all day and would even run down the gravel path. Dirty feet that night.

Chalk, Berries, Twins





 I got 4 colors of Jumbo spray on chalk and they went to town, making a town.  This is Jillian's creation.  Interesting?

 Bridget and Tor worked on a tie-dye picture.  The chalk was really thick in it.





This is their finished town for their scooters.  It has sidewalks, warning signs, crosswalks, and many other stores.  They named it Crazy Town, USA. 
     After that they went berry picking with us and Brock. It was the little wild blackberries and they stayed with Brock all through the patch.  We were there over two hours and got lots of berries but they won't eat the berry pie but Bridget finally said she would try a tiny piece.  While there, my friend Don brought his 4-wheeler out and took Jillian for a ride down to the Toutle River.  Bridget took her turn but decided the road was too steep and scary to go all the way.  Don then took Tor on some other logging roads. I think that was the highlight of the berry trip-not actually the picking.
     Later Ava and Harper came to play and they went right to the town again to ride all over.  Then they went up to their place to end the day with lots more running around.

All about Pirates

Ever since Tor got back from Disneyland, it's been all about pirates ... which is odd because he said the Pirates of the Carribean ride was terrifying.
