Little Reader

Grannie Woodruff has been teaching Tor to read the last couple weeks, and he showed us what he could do with a book he brought back from preschool. It was fun to watch and hear.

Goalie



Jillian rarely if ever plays goalie as she is very aggressive and likes to run all over.  At first there was some activity at the goal and she did a good job of booting the ball away.  Then there wasn't much happening so she would lean on the post or try to touch the top bar.  She looked lonely down there.
It was crazy weather that started out so nice until a big black cloud came and it poured.  But then there was a beautiful rainbow over the field for a long time.

Bridget is 7!

For Bridget's 7th birthday, she chose Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant for dinner since she loves having the wait staff sing to her.

Bridget's 7th Birthday Party

Bridget finally had her b-day party. She has been keeping a countdown on a small piece of paper, crossing off each day. There were a lot of people at the party ... our house was packed to near capacity. When asked afterwards, Bridget said it was a great time.

Go Jacks!

To unwind on Friday after a 5-day school week, we went to the RA Long vs MM football game next door to our house. The kids thought it was lots of fun, they were excited to see the Jacks win big, and Tor was pretty creeped out by the big-headed Lumberjack mascot.

Jillian's U10 Soccer Season

Jillian had her first soccer game of the year tonight, and she also got her first goal of the season (shown in the third picture below). She was aggressive and worked hard, and didn't want the game to end when it was over. Oh, and she got soaked when the automatic water sprinklers turned on in the field during the game.

Tor's School of Torture

 Tor spent the morning outside and he wanted to walk in the woods.  He spotted a bird nest in the trees.  He had me pick up cones and he got a lot of grass and wanted to build a nest for a bird in the grape arbor.  We put it up on the beams so only the birds could get to it.  Then he helped me pick some grapes but didn't eat one.

Then later he was eager to begin his second lesson in Grannie's School of Torture ( a nickname the other kids gave it.)  He works really hard on writing letters but the best part is the prize at the end.  And he is very proud of his work!
