Ball Throwing Tor

There is a basket of balls in the kitchen.  It has been there for a long time as the big boys used to shoot at a hoop on the window.  Now that basket is the first thing that Tor heads for.  And he is not happy until he has thrown every ball all over the kitchen.  He then will carry a ball when he is walking around, looking for someone to throw it to.

Chuck E. Cheese

Jillian wanted her 6th birthday party to be at Chuck E. Cheese. Jillian had been to several parties there, and saw how much fun it was, so she couldn't wait to have her own. Lots of family and friends came and got to enjoy the experience. The kids (Jillian, Bridget, Torion and Adam) spent the first hour running around and playing games. Then, they joined up with the hosts and Chuck E. Cheese for some singing and dancing. Afterwards, we had cake and ice cream and Jillian opened up presents. At the end, she got to go into the Ticket Blaster and grab at the whirlwind of tickets flying around.

Swimming Boy

Tor went into the swimming pool for the first time when we stopped by Astoria on our way to the beach. Mommy and Daddy took turns taking him into the water, and he enjoyed looking around at the sights, and occasionally splashing. Unfortunately, the wading pool was closed, so he had to settle for playing on his own on the ramp. He never did mind getting water in his face.

Naptime for Baby

Bridget has been doing this for some time now but it is so cute that I had to share.  When it's nap time or bedtime, she will take her baby in the crib to the bedroom and get a book to read to baby before it's her turn to nap.  She reads the whole book too and always picks a real familiar book that she has probably memorized.  And amazingly baby has her eyes shut and is sound asleep. Then when it's her time for bed, she is happily ready for me to read to her and she goes right to sleep.

Showtime

The girls put on a show for Daddy, Mommy, Tor, Papa, and I last night.  They turned out all the lights and had Daddy hold the flashlight for a spotlight.  Jillian played the piano with some crazy arm movements and Bridget (who is under the weather with a cold) supplied the refreshments.  It was fun.

Basketball Game

Daddy, Tor, Jillian, and Bridget got to go to the boy's game in Kelso.  They were thrilled that Rielee would be there too.  At first all three played a game Rielee brought and that lasted through the first half.  Then they watched a video we brought except Bridget started to get tired (past her bedtime) and Auna was entertaining her, so sweet of Auna.  Here is Auna trying to get Bridget to smile for a picture but at that point Bridget was just into having fun with Auna and wrestling. On one picture Bridget stuck her tongue out.   At least Auna kept smiling.  Meanwhile Tor was a trooper, very interested in all the excitement on the court-the bands, cheerleaders, and players.  Sadly, the boys didn't win....

Jump Rope Madness

Since they are doing Jump Rope for Heart in school, they have been working on it in PE.  Papa brought in a jump rope last night for Jillian to practice with and it's been non-stop since then.  Yesterday she could get one jump solo.  She started jumping before breakfast, then after breakfast, and now after lunch.  She is still going strong and now she can hot pepper up to 20.  Seems like she is inspired to beat the one boy in her class that already knows how to jump.  She wanted me to take a picture and print it and put the number of jumps she can do on the back to show her PE teacher.  Today she even learned how to run in when Papa and I were turning the rope for her.  She has gone through 4-5 water bottles so far.  She should sleep good tonight. Persistent girl!
