It was a good start to our Redwoods vacation with the Stephenson / Paul family … we stopped at the In-N-Out in Toseburg for an early (and delicious) lunch. The kids are to the right:

Hattie’s B-day Party
It’s become a tradition to go to Hattie’s birthday party at Aunt Laury and Uncle Dave’s house on the 4th of July. It was a nice chance to visit with family halfway through the summer, and to play with so many little cousins.
July 4th Parade
We met up with the little Johnson cousins on the Longview Go Fourth parade route to watch floats and collect candy. The girls helped Kenny and Rory with the collecting, although their favorite things were bubbles and horses.
Papa Ken also met up with us, and we all got to see cousin Adam walk in the parade.

Little Fireworks
Dad bought a few small fireworks at the WAHSET fundraiser, including black snakes, smoke bombs and snappers. We took them to CR and Tor lit off the snakes while Jillian held Grant and Bridget held Rory … no need to hold Kenny, she liked them.
Once we brought out the loud stuff, Rory wanted nothing to do with them, hiding in the shed with the girls.
Fireworks Fundraiser
Bridget turned around the next day to help with a fireworks fundraiser for her Battleground WAHSET team.

Parking Lot Fundraiser
Bridget took her usual time slot for the RA Long volleyball fundraiser at the cafeteria-side parking lot. She was joined by Connor, the team manager.
There were some moments of lots of cars coming in, but it was mostly slow. Jillian and Tor both stopped by and hung out, and Dad made the usual cheeseburger dinner.
Soccer-mania
With us watching the World Cup soccer games as often as we can, Tor is back into soccer, carrying his soccer ball around and setting up fields to play on. Jillian has been providing some competition:
