Bridget Decorations

While Daddy was out firing up the barbecue for Mother's Day, Bridget made decorations for the occasion. She had lots of patterned paper and cut out lanterns to hang all over.

This is just a few lanterns she made to make this a special occasion. Having Rick make hot dogs for Mother's Day is a long tradition that started many years ago when Rick was still living at home. Papa rented a wood splitter for the weekend so he wanted to get done that Sunday. So we were over the hill splitting logs and it got very late (in fact, dark) that Mother's Day, so Rick went to get hot dogs, built a fire, and cooked dinner for us in the woods. And so every year Rick cooks hot dogs (not in the woods) and smores. A very memorable Mother's Day!

 

Happy Mothers Day!

It was a tight squeeze with all the kids getting so big, but we managed to fit everyone into the bed for the traditional Mothers Day morning breakfast in bed. Per tradition, they watched Popeye (Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves) on the tablet, while eating donuts (and a croissant for Bridget).

McKenna & Lindsey's Grad Party

Lindsey just went through her college graduation ceremony, while McKenna had her's cancelled a while ago -- so we celebrated both of them together tonight, with burgers, fixings and cake at the Paul's.

Teacher Appreciation

It was Teacher Appreciation Week, and Tor gave his 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Queener a gift basket. She took a selfie of it with Tor.

Lexie's Pizza

Cousin Adam is staying with us for a few days while Auntie Greta is on a trip. After Jillian's track meet at Cascade, where she won the 100 meters, 110 hurdles and 400 relay (and long jump is pending), we went to the Lexington Hardware store so Mom could pick out some hanging flower baskets. Then, we headed over to Lexie's Pizza for dinner.

May Day

Our girls got together with the neighbor girls to make May Day flower baskets and deliver them all along Lilac Street. They used the "knock and run" approach.

Sunday Afternoon Football

Got lucky with another sunny and warm Sunday afternoon of flag football. Tor played quarterback a bunch, and got to run a keeper, picking up some yards down the sideline.

He also grabbed an interception on defense as a safety.
