Mommy's B-day

To celebrate Mommy's birthday, we had a relaxing time at home -- something she really enjoys. Brownies and vanilla ice cream were the treats for the night.

The kids helped with her presents ...

Dinner was a rare treat -- Papa Pete's pizza ... our kids are growing, because we had hardly any leftovers :(

Outside Time, bat, VB, and Valentines

Anna is finally getting comfortable among all of them and will stay and play instead of running away. She likes the attention and petting a lot.

As soon as breakfast was finished (not too early as they slept in) they played outside in the COLD weather but clear and sunny. The hit of the day was discovering this bat in the wood shed. They named her Pudding. She stayed where they could see her for a long time and then disappeared. It wasn't full-grown yet.

Jillian is having tryouts for club so she enlisted Tierney to hit balls at her. They worked hard for a long time with Tor being the shagger.

Another big hit of the day was having Ava and Harper come to play. They were outside the whole time with scooters and some fun game at the Tree Fort. Jillian, Bridget and Tor were some tired puppies at the end of the day.

Bridget was just leaving for home when she remember to take one of her Valentine decorations. They all put up my Valentines decorations and then Bridget worked on this when Jillian was doing VB. Very nice!

 

MLK Jr Weekend

Gorgeous day at the beach, in mid January! Kids are getting older and sleeping in later, but once we got going, we headed to the beach. It was nice enough for the kids to dip their toes in the ocean.

An excavator had dug out a channel for "poop river", leaving a long line of sand hills for the kids to play on.

More treats to end the trip!

Family Bike Ride

Today was the first day that all 5 of us went for a bike ride (at home ... we do it all the time at the beach). Daddy finally got a bike as a Father's Day / Christmas / Birthday gift.

We biked most of Lake Sacajawea, and Tor was wiped out at the end (those little legs have to pedal twice as fast).

Running the Nursery

Jillian has a new job ... running the nursery at church. She takes care of one little boy (1-1/2 yo), entertaining him for about an hour, and gets paid $10.

Daddy is 52

Daddy celebrated his 52nd birthday in Castle Rock. Jillian took pictures during present opening, which Tor helped with.

Grannie had several games lined up, including this one-handed Lego building game that the kids liked.

Happy 2021

We rolled into 2021 while at the beach! The kids stayed up until midnight (Tor barely made it, while Bridget was in her element), then we drove out to the beach. With 5 minutes to go, they got out of the car for the countdown, and were pummeled by hurricane winds and freezing rain. It was crazy! (Kind of appropriate for 2020, though). As soon as it was the new year, everyone scrambled to get back in the car.
