Beginning Reader

Tor sat down with Grannie to read the "Go, Dog. Go!", and with just a little bit of help, he was able to read it himself. He was pretty proud of himself, and he earned a small prize, too.

Brock's Game

Tor and Jillian got to watch Brock's college team EOU play at Warner Pacific.  Brock played great but they ended up losing.  When Brock came out after the game, Tor almost knocked him over jumping on him for a big hug. I'm sure Tor was watching Brock for pointers for his own game.

Tor's Basketball Season

Tor began his first basketball season with his kindergarten team and Coach Amy. It took a game for him to figure out what was going on (he missed the only practice with the flu), but in the second game, he was all over the court ... dribbling, passing and shooting the ball. He said he made 6 baskets on the day.

Bridget's Basketball Season

Bridget is back with her team and Coach Glenn for this year's basketball season. They played their first games this weekend, and Bridget made several assists and one basket. She is very analytical when playing, thinking about the best options on each play.

The big "50"

Saturday was the day of the big "50" for Daddy, so Jillian, Bridget, and Tor got to come up early to play before the party. It was great since Ava and Harper were here too. They spent a lot of time outdoors with the scooters, ripsticks, and skate boards. Then they decorated the downstairs fit for a queen with a red carpet. Later they went up to Aunt's where they had a hoverboard to play on, so now that's what Jillian is asking for on her birthday.

 After a delicious taco feed during commercials of the Seahawk game in the first half, at halftime it was time for cake and presents. Tor always wants to blow out the candles first, even before we're done singing. Here he's all ready to go.

 Earlier in the week Jillian, Bridget, and Tor (with help) wrote down their share of 50 things they love about Daddy.  Some are very touching and others are funny, like Jillian's "I like it because you have big feet like mine." There were some games about Rick during the second half of the game, again during commercials. Darn Seahawks could have ended the day with a bang if they could have won but overall, it was a very fun day!

Harry Potter Mania

For Jillian, this was a "Harry Potter Christmas". She started reading the series earlier in the school year, then spent most of her break plowing through the really thick books. Some motivation has come from receiving the movie series as a gift ... she gets to watch the show for each book she finishes. Pretty much all of her free time is spent reading, like this photo shows.

New Year 2019

Here's how the kids spent their final minutes of 2018. They kept themselves awake until then with YouTube and video games. They briefly went outside to watch some fireworks.

Earlier, we hung out at Papa Ken and Bev's, eating walleye and treats with relatives and friends.
