Go Dawgs!

It was a beautiful mid-November day for a Husky football game. We walked the mile or so to the stadium, then settled into our seats in the east endzone. It was a pretty good crowd, and there was plenty of scoring. After halftime, the temperature dropped and the kids got chilled, so we did our best to snuggle together. In the end, UW won the game handily against OSU, and the kids were ready to find a place to warm up.

The Bookstore

When Daddy told the kids they were going to the bookstore, they were excited about all the books they wanted to buy. They still enjoyed picking up some cool Husky gear.

Pre-Game at the Stuarts

Part of the tradition of going to a Husky football game is staying with Ron and Leinora for the night. We slept in the basement, which is full of fun kids stuff. In the morning, the kids played with Finley (who is Bridget's age), and also with their new puppy Chewie.

Husky Volleyball

After a long drive, we finally made it to UW for our Husky weekend. As we walked to the arena to watch the volleyball game, the kids were amazed at all the athletic facilities, saying "I want to go to school here!" Jillian and Tor enjoyed the game (and Tor cheered every point), while Bridget was reading a book through the entire match.


The Huskies won the match in against Cal. Afterwards, we visited the trophy room and saw the national championship football trophy.

Backstage

We went to The Music Man musical last night at RAL to watch Jiilian's friend Morgan perform. It was a fun show, and the kids enjoyed it, too, though they got really sleepy since it was way past their bedtime. We met up with Morgan backstage after the show for a photo opp.

No school-busy day

 Tor decided to take a bath instead of a shower like the girls did. He hasn't had a bubble bath in a long time, so stayed in the tub for at least an hour and played in the bubbles. He's eyeing Jillian to see what she is going to do. Turned out to be nothing...

 Here is Tor working on his homemade slime. It took a long time to get working and he wasn't very patient. Finally he started mixing with his hands and it stuck to his fingers which he didn't like so wanted to wash his hands and quit. I then scraped out his bowl and worked it a little bit so he finally had some good slime to play with.

Jillian and Bridget were a lot more patient and had some good slime.

Last week Jillian picked a lot of fall leaves and they all worked to press them in books, so after the slime they got to do a turkey project.  They used the leaves for the turkey's tail and all of their turkeys looked very nice.  The last time they did this project, Jillian was five and Bridget three.

Tor at ROOTS

Tor had his first ROOTS basketball practice tonight, and he did a good job of listening and working hard. He was one of the smallest players, but being with first and second graders didn't slow him down.
