Jillian's U10 Soccer Season

Jillian had her first soccer game of the year tonight, and she also got her first goal of the season (shown in the third picture below). She was aggressive and worked hard, and didn't want the game to end when it was over. Oh, and she got soaked when the automatic water sprinklers turned on in the field during the game.

Tor's School of Torture

 Tor spent the morning outside and he wanted to walk in the woods.  He spotted a bird nest in the trees.  He had me pick up cones and he got a lot of grass and wanted to build a nest for a bird in the grape arbor.  We put it up on the beams so only the birds could get to it.  Then he helped me pick some grapes but didn't eat one.

Then later he was eager to begin his second lesson in Grannie's School of Torture ( a nickname the other kids gave it.)  He works really hard on writing letters but the best part is the prize at the end.  And he is very proud of his work!

Papa Bob & Tierney B-day

We all enjoyed pie in Castle Rock in celebration of Papa Bob's 78th and Tierney's 23rd. Tor was the big helper, ripping open cards and presents for them.

Bridget's First Soccer Game

Bridget had a good start to her first soccer season playing on the Purple Mini Conquerors. She worked hard, running all over the field and trying to get the ball. She even had a nice shot on the goal.

Tor's First Day of 4's Preschool

Tor was excited to get back to Calvary Community preschool to see all of his friends (especially Campbell) and his teacher Mrs. Saavedra from last year. When asked what he did, he said "eating and dancing".

Grandkids Days at the Beach

 A new activity at the beach that was Tor's favorite.  They used swords instead of light sabers because the sand would ruin the sabers.  Daddy made an arena for the sword contests.

 Jillian went a few rounds too and it was a draw since it was cool and windy the first day and she didn't want to give up her towel. Brock and Cale had a 10 round match that they face-timed with Ty, who was back at college.

 Tierney wrote "Kids Day" in the sand for a picture and that was a challenge getting everyone to smile as they were a little impatient since I had issues with my camera.

 This moat picture was the second day and it was so hot right down to the ocean.  Brock kept his sweatshirt on since he didn't put on sunscreen? The kids played in the cold water for a long time which felt good.

Ice cream the first day.  Somehow as we were walking back from Adelaides, Tor managed to get a big glob of ice cream on his forehead.  They all played a lot of UNO and other games that Cale invented.  We stopped at Funland and the temperature in Long Beach was over 90 degrees and then we proceeded to Astoria to get ice cream for the trip home. Much nicer at the beach.

First Day of School

Jillian and Bridget had their first day of school on Wednesday, Jillian in 4th grade, and Bridget in 1st grade. They dressed in their new, cool (literally) clothes since it was pretty warm.
