The Flu, Part 2

All of the kids had the flu over Christmas break, and now they've picked up another strain. This time it's the stomach variety.  These kids are definitely sick of being sick!

Basketball Sisters

Jillian and Bridget are both playing Kelso Youth Basketball this season. They both like their teammates and coaches. They each had their first games on Saturday. Jillian's team had a tough start on their first game, but made it close the second game, and Jillian scored 10 points in that one.  She was the primary ball handler, so she drove it all the way several times. Bridget's team did well figuring out what to do, and Bridget scored her first couple baskets!!! She also had a unique way of getting open, running laps all the way around the court trying to lose her defender. It's been a fun start to the season!

Another Snow Day....

 No school Thursday so the kids got lots of snow time.  They were out a long time and one by one would go in to get a change of clothes and they were back at it.  Tierney was home for the weekend so spent a lot of time with them.  They had two runs going and it was great snow for sledding after they got the trails packed.

 Bridget had fun making snow angels in snow that was almost as deep as she was. 

 Actually Bridget did some sledding on her own.  She made a run on some snow that was piled up after Papa cleared the driveway and she went down it several times.  She pulled the sled on the big hill but I didn't see her go very far but then I was changing Tor's clothes.

Rielee came down to slide and then the 3 girls decided to make a snow fort out of the snow Papa had piled up.  They got pretty big chunks out of the packed snow to help build it.  No trouble getting all three to sleep that night.

Tor Christmas

 Tor enjoyed the limelight since his sisters were sick.  First he got to pass out presents on Christmas morning. 

Then he got to open his favorite present-a giant Darth Vader.  He was so excited to sword fight the big guy. Forgot that I hadn't posted these yet until Rick said there weren't any Christmas photos.

Yet Another Snow Day

At this rate, we'll be in school until July. In the late morning, the neighbor girls, Hazel and Ila, knocked on our door and asked if the kids could come out and play in the snow with them. The kids couldn't get dressed fast enough. The first thing they did was make snow cones by pouring juice and Gatorade on the snow, then eating it. Then, we got out the new sleds and the kids took turns pulling each other up and down the sidewalk. After warming up, the neighbor girls came by again in the late afternoon and asked if the kids could play in their backyard. They did, and were much colder this time around. Nice warm baths and showers afterwards took care of that.

Sick Christmas

So, there's not much posted about this Christmas. Jillian, Bridget and Daddy were all sick with the flu through most of the Christmas break. Tor and Mommy got through it OK mostly, and made all the appearances at gatherings for our family. But, there are no photos or videos to share. Maybe next year.

Cold But Fun

Ty gave them a basketball lesson today but only for about a half hour since it was so cold.  They girls did wear gloves.  Tor got to join in this time and I think he was the best listener of the group.  Ty would point to where to line up next and Tor would be the first one there. Bridget kept taking breaks to play in the ice in the pond. Then Ty took them inside and played Star Wars play-doh with Tor and Moon Dough with Bridget.

After Ty left they wanted to go outside again since it was sunny and they were warm.  They got to drive their new Dune Buggy around and found out it went great in the snow.  Jillian took turns giving Bridget and Tor rides.  Then Bridget got the jeep but it got stuck in the snow so they raced in circles on the driveway.
