Outside Time

 It was so nice that Bridget and Tor were playing outside early.  Bridget had her little tent and Sophie doll set and Tor spent a lot of time in the tunnel chasing Sophie.  Sophie likes to play with Tor since Tor isn't fast enough to grab her yet but Sophie will dash up and lick him

 Ty came to play with Bridget and they were fascinated with the bubble blowers, especially this one that blows a big bubble with lots of little bubbles inside.

For the first time Tor got to spend a lot of time in the sandbox.  He is pretty good at throwing sand without hitting his head with it.  After each sand session, it's a complete strip down as he has sand everywhere.

Mother's Day

It was a very busy Mother's Day. It started with a small breakfast in bed. The kids all joined Mommy in bed, with Mommy having her coffee and pastry, and the girls had their hot chocolate, bananas and muffins, and Tor just chilled out. Somehow, very little mess was made. Then we went to church in the morning, before heading to The Pancake House to have brunch with Auntie Greta and Cousin Adam. The girls were thrilled to bookend Adam at the table. After the noise level from the kids got to be too much, we went home for a little playing and relaxing. Then, we headed to Castle Rock for a BBQ at the firepit with the Woodruff side. The girls spent most of their time riding bikes and trikes down the paved path, while Tor roamed the grounds, keeping Mommy busy chasing him around.

Pre-writing by Bridget

Bridget is getting excited about going to preschool next year, and she mimics all of the school work that Jillian does. If Jillian does homework at the dining room table, Bridget will run and get some paper and pencil and do her own work. Recently, we found some of Bridget's work on an Etch-a-Sketch. It shows her attempt at letters as well as the squiggly lines of sentences.

School Carnival

Jillian, Bridget and Torion went to the Olympic School carnival last week with Daddy. The girls had a great time playing all the games and especially winning the prizes. They were very focused on doing well and trying to win. Torion had to be held most of the time, but he did get let loose a couple times to run around. We timed it about right, because when we were done, it started raining (the carnival was outside).

Engineer, Messy, and Fun

 Our little engineer found the package of cups and proceeded to stack them into castles (she called them that) without anyone telling her how.  She is always putting things in precise order.

 Then there's Mr. Messy.  He tipped over the paper shredder and had a grand time throwing the paper all over.  Since it was already there I let him play until he was tired of it, which took awhile.

The girls set up the computer room and turned the lights off and had all of us come there and dance to the music they played.  After that Jillian and Bridget danced together in the living room.  Tor rocked out on his own.  All of them together are very entertaining!

Little Climber

Usually Tor just empties these baskets, but now he turns them over and climbs on top and thinks he's pretty cool.  Also sometimes he gets inside and sits there.  This climbing is getting scary as he will get up on a play chair, stand up, and then stand there with hands up, not holding on.

Teeter-Totter

Papa brought the teeter-totter out of the shed today for Bridget.  I think she was totally surprised (I was too!) that Papa got in to ride with her.  It was early in the morning and so nice that both her and Tor played outside for a long time.  No pictures of Tor as I was always chasing him as he went in all directions fascinated by whatever he wasn't supposed to have or do.
